Manuel Asali is a Vice President at NexantECA and is responsible for NexantECA Training globally. Manuel currently lives in London where he undertakes work related to the main petrochemical value chains and feedstock's. Manuel is a Chemical Engineer and has an MBA from London Business School.
He has over 25 years of experience in the petrochemical industry and he has lived and worked in North America, Europe and the Middle East. Manuel brings a combination of marketing, strategic and technical knowledge from his previous experience, making the training very engaging and providing a balanced view of the chemical industry that is useful to newcomers as well as experienced professionals. Manuel’s teaching experience dates back to the 1990s and he is a regular speaker at petrochemical industry conferences.

Senior Trainer
Ron Horton is a Senior Trainer supporting NexantECA's petrochemical industry programs. Ron brings his broad industry experience spanning over 45 years in the petrochemical business, working in many different areas including operations, project management, commercial and business management, consulting, project development, and project finance.
Ron holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He began his career at Dow Canada in operations and later in business/commercial functions. He joined CMAI where he led its single client consulting practice. Ron gained extensive experience in the area of project development, with a particular focus on the Middle East. He later joined Saudi Aramco where he provided senior management with an understanding of the global chemical industry fundamentals and opportunities for business development, as well as advising senior government officials on chemical industry for upstream and midstream development. Ron was a key participant in the development of Saudi Aramco's petrochemical joint venture projects. Since retiring from Saudi Aramco in 2008, Ron has provided consultant services to Saudi Aramco on the Sadara project most recently focusing on project financing efforts.
David Hughes
Senior Trainer
David supports chemical companies who are seeking to improve their leadership capabilities and transform their business. David has over 30 years of experience in the global petrochemicals industry. Previously, David held senior executive positions with SABIC, Huntsman and ICI, where he led a range of global $1bn+ businesses based in Europe, the Middle East and the USA. He also led SABIC’s global business re-design programme in 2009.
David has served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Petrochemicals Europe, and of numerous other global industry. David specialises in confidential coaching of executives in the chemical industry and beyond.
David holds a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
Arvind Aggarwal
Principal
Arvind Aggarwal has 30 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. His previous experience includes work for Shell Chemicals in the UK and almost 25 years working in consulting across a wide range of refining and petrochemicals.
Arvind previously worked for NexantECA and other leading chemical consultancies. More recently, Arvind has worked in M&A related projects, providing commercial and technical due diligence support and providing expert advice to Boards and financial institutions on investments. Arvind delivers courses for NexantECA Training and he is a regular presenter at Conferences and events on the petrochemical industry.
